Welcome to Win’s Books Publishing, a Black woman-owned independent press dedicated to transforming manuscripts into market-ready books. Originally, Win’s Books, was founded in 2019 by author Winnifred Tataw to launch her own fantasy titles. As the years went by, we successfully expanded our operations, built our distribution network, and opened our doors to outside authors in 2024.
We focus on professional, real-world execution rather than empty industry promises. By combining a highly selective publishing catalog with dedicated hybrid options for specialty formats, we give high-potential stories the formatting, design, and retail distribution required to compete for space on major digital storefronts and physical bookstore shelves.
Meet The Founder
My journey in the publishing industry began when I decided to self-publish my own book series The Gods’ Scion. It was a challenging process, but I was determined to see it through. Thus Win’s Books was born in 2019.
After navigating the complexities of publishing my own books in 2019, I realized how much infrastructure new authors lack when trying to transition from a finished manuscript to retail distribution. To help bridge that gap, I began hosting workshops, running training sessions, and offering direct guidance to fellow writers on professional editing, book design, and targeted marketing strategy.
That hands-on experience led me to launch Win’s Books Publishing as a full-service press in 2024. My goal was to move past the vague, emotional promises often found in the publishing industry and instead provide authors with a transparent, structured environment. We focus on delivering the practical production standards, retail formatting, and distribution access that writers need to confidently launch their work into the competitive market.
